Our Lady of the Lake College (OLOL College), located in Louisiana’s capital city of Baton Rouge, is a four-year independent, private, Catholic institution. The College is a wholly owned subsidiary of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and is sponsored by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, North American Province.
Devoted to excellence in teaching and learning, OLOL College is a student-centered academic community guided by its institutional mission. Accredited to offer master’s, bachelor’s and associate degrees, the College has an enrollment of over 1,800 students and offers degrees in programs such as nursing, health sciences, humanities, behavioral sciences, and arts and sciences.
Our Lady of the Lake College has an extensive and growing tradition of service to the community. During 2012, students provided 18,949 hours of service locally. In early 2011, the College was named by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a Carnegie Engaged Campus. In addition to this prestigious Carnegie Foundation classification, the College has been named six times to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. Inclusion on the Honor Roll (which is the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement) was especially significant in 2013 when the College was featured ‘with Distinction' for the second time.
"The College is at the pinnacle of quality in healthcare education. We are nationally recognized as setting the bar for standards in several academic programs, as well as our commitment to the community in terms of service and volunteerism. Our job as trustees is to converge our resources and those of the Baton Rouge area with the institutional vision of building one of the great Catholic colleges in the South."
