Taking samples in areas that flooded in August 2016, undergraduates participating in the University's Supervised Independent Research Experiences (SIRE) Program performed basic water quality testing. Their results, which showed the presence of chemicals found in household cleaning formulations and elevated turbidity levels, contributed to local data showing the effects of local flooding on water quality. One way our students are serving the community!
