Helping Students Reach Their Goals
The Career Services Department at Our Lady of the Lake College can help you decide what your future career will be and help you choose a major. Services provided include:
Job Search Strategies
The Career Services Department conducts a Job Fair in the Fall and Spring semesters. We invite local, in-state, and out-of-state companies on campus to talk to students about employment opportunities. This enables the students to make contact with many different companies, talk to their recruiters and hiring personnel and hand out resumes all in one central location on campus.
A Career Corner has been established in the Reference Room of the Campus Library. This entire section is designated for information on careers and occupations. It contains many current, useful career/occupation-related resources to help students explore and investigate occupations so they can make a well-informed decision regarding what major to choose. It also contains resources on how to conduct a successful job search.
All of our services are provided following the ethical guidelines as set forth by the American Counseling Association. Career Services records are held in strictest confidence and are NOT a part of any other college records.
Services are FREE and Convenient
All career services are completely FREE to Our Lady of the Lake College students –- part-time and full-time –- as well as alumni. Appointments may be made by calling (225) 768-0813. Walk-in appointments are also available.
